About Us

The Florida Desi Basketball League is a recreational organization devoted to increasing the overall level in the lifestyle of its members. The league runs for one season per year beginning with a draft of players to teams and ending with an All Star showdown. The roots of this organization were established in the Spring of 2005 in Tampa, FL which is where the league still remains today. The term "Desi" means countryman, and like every other race, the Indians and Pakistanis, neighbors and brothers in the eastern world, are extremely proud to provide the opportunity to celebrate their culture through sport. The league started with a little over 30 members and has grown considerably to over 60 consistently. We look forward to serving the western settled Indians and Pakistanis in the Central Florida area through progression.
